This is the first step for beginner level students and hobby artists. One can concentrate on making some functional objects, fun figures and playful ceramics.

Workshop outcome

Participants will learn the basics of hand building and wheel throwing for creating fun and functional pottery. These sessions will introduce you to the art of pottery and ceramics. You will also learn how to use different tools and how to prepare your clay. Finally you will learn to apply glaze on your first creations after bisque firing. Once the glaze firing is done then you will be the proud owner of your own creations.

Workshop outline

Participants should be aged 10+ to participate. The sessions would be conducted for 2hrs/day and for 3 days in a week i.e. Fri/Sat/Sun. In total there would be 12 sessions.

Participants would be provided necessary tools, clay(5kg), wheels and required glazes.

You would be learning wheel throwing and hand building techniques such as slab work coil work and pinching.

You can create various art forms using these techniques out of which best 5 products would be glazed and fired

Workshop guidelines:

  • We have limited seats. Pre-booking is required. Call us or email us for registration information.

  • Your participation is not confirmed if you have not paid the fees before the workshop start date.

  • Bookings are non transferable and fees are non refundable. (if missed you have to finish up your sessions within 2 months)

  • Please wear loose, comfortable clothes and shoes that are easy to clean and you don't mind them getting dirty. Carry an apron.

  • We have our own methods and techniques for the workshop. Please follow the pre-requisites.

  • There won't be any breaks, we recommend that you bring a bottle of water along.

  • In the last 5 minutes of the daily session, participants will be kindly asked to clean up so that the studio is ready for the next day.
